博士課程の学生がScienceに投稿していた論文の査読が、「Reject」で戻って来ました。
この論文は私の「宍道湖という特殊な環境でネオニコがワカサギ漁獲量の低下を招いた」論文並に日本固有の現象を扱っていたので、「Our decision is not necessarily a reflection of the quality of your research but rather of our stringent space limitations.」と書かれても仕方ないと思いました。
ただし文末の文章は、ScienceのRejectメールとしては異例ではと思いました。
“Please do let us know when and where your paper is eventually published as we may be able to consider it for our Editor’s Choice section at the time.”
私自身は「学生の研究結果は世界に知られるべき。」と信じていましたが、学生もこの一文を読んで自信を持ったと思います。
